Executive Summary
CumulusPro develops cloud-based expense claim applications that help organisations manage employee reimbursements and encourage compliance with internal HR policies. Its goal is to simplify receipt capture and claims processing while reducing reliance on paper-based administration.
Peritos Solutions worked with CumulusPro to develop a digital receipt and invoice management application on Microsoft Azure. The solution supports electronic receipt submission, expense claim preparation and management review, with web and mobile technologies and automated deployment practices.

Background
CumulusPro wanted a straightforward, automated expense management experience for businesses. Employees needed to capture receipts, assemble claims and submit reimbursements, while managers required a way to review submissions against configured policies.
The first phase covered a custom web application, configurable HR policy rules and claim submission and approval workflows. The wider solution also used mobile development technologies and Azure-hosted services.

Challenge
The project needed to bring together expense information and supporting receipts in an online workflow while making claim entry easier for employees and review more manageable for business users.
The published implementation also describes substantial data migration work, including moving on-premises information into online databases and applying AI/ML-based logic for routing information into the appropriate data views. The source does not clearly establish which migration details were specific to the expense module.
Security, availability and growth were important considerations. The implementation called for encrypted data, multifactor authentication, token-protected APIs, high availability and disaster recovery, and an architecture designed to accommodate increasing usage.
Solution
Peritos Solutions developed an Azure-hosted digital receipt and invoice management solution for CumulusPro to support paperless expense claim processing.
The application was designed around web and mobile experiences, with ReactJS and React Native on the frontend and .NET Core, C# and Node.js among the backend technologies. SQL Server and MongoDB were listed as the data platforms.
Employees can submit receipts and compile expense reports, while the workflow supports the broader objective of easier claims administration and business policy compliance.
Key Solution Capabilities
- Digital Receipt Capture: Submit expense receipts electronically rather than relying on paper documentation.
- Expense Claim Preparation: Automatically populate available data into claims to reduce repetitive manual entry.
- Monthly Expense Reports: Collect individual receipts and submit a consolidated expense report at month end.
- Policy Configuration: Configure HR policies to support consistent handling of employee expense claims.
- Submission and Review: Support employee and manager interactions for submitting and accepting claims.
- Security Controls: Use data encryption, multifactor authentication and token-protected API endpoints.
- Cloud Delivery: Host on Microsoft Azure with CI/CD deployment and operational cost notifications.

Approach
The published technology stack includes ReactJS for the web app, React Native for mobile development, .NET Core/C#/Node.js for backend services, and SQL Server and MongoDB for persistence. Microsoft Azure hosts the application components.
The implementation lists Auth0 single sign-on and SendGrid integration. It also describes data encryption, multifactor authentication, tokenized API endpoints, high-availability/disaster-recovery provisions and automatic scaling to handle up to ten times the initial average load.
Peritos implemented CI/CD to build and deploy code changes and configured budget alerts to support cost management. The project included documentation, knowledge transfer and one month of extended support for major and minor bug fixes.
